Eddie was better for his time,his style really fit into the 80's better,but slash's sound could easily fit into any era,it's simplier and timeless.Both great player-take the VS. out of it and they could rule the world!

eddie is technically "better," and reinvented the instrument for generations (to this day.) slash was one of his "pupils," and even inducted him into the rock n' roll hall of fame.
slash's solos sound more "classy" somehow, whereas eddie's sound more spunky and aggressive.

There's no decision to be made here. Both probably two of the greatest guitars of all time, probably the greatest in hard rock history. Extremely talented men, its amazing what they've both done for music in the past decades. Slash, so amazing, such a kick ass at life. Eddie, he's just got the best look on his face, the worlds most amazing hands, and hey: if you don't have fun with what you do, can't be any good at it.
Keep kicking everyones ass guys. Rock hard!
