are their any types of trees where you cannot drink the sap? what if you tap the wrong tree and it turns out the sap is poison?

That was a mighty large hole . Do you think there is there any other way to stop the sap from seeping out after you are finished? I hate to plug the hole forever- It's like leaving an object in it's skin.
