It was a cold Sunday morning in Cuneo (Italy). Snow covered the landscape and the runway but the weather was fine. Ideal conditions to test the performances of our awesome Cessna P210 Silver Eagle with its 450 shp RR turboprop engine. We reached 16'000 feet in a little more than 10' min. Cruise TAS at this altitude was 209 kts and in the low levels we could have reached 5 more kts.

  • whats with the random computer fan @ 1:26

  • we use it as windshield defroster

  • WOW!!! A true beast. What initial climb rate do you get in cold air??

  • 2500' feet per minute and more

  • What is it like landing on a snow covered runway? Seems like it could be dangerous.

  • It's easy if you don't use the brakes and there is not crosswind

  • I've been looking at the different types of single turbo-props a/c, now, with the booming marking in that category, why not just buy the TBM850 or the Krestel, or the Piper Meridian. I mean, i love the C210, but they're hard to get here in Australia, so I guess each pilot needs to move on to the next generation aircraft.

    Cheers.

  • @Alidalbatros has this plane a reverse ??

  • 180kias in Cruise?

  • pressurized?

  • what a fantastic video. clarity.quality.smoothness.not crap music.

how does the oxygen work at that altitude.

    it is pressurized.

  • Everything about this video is beautiful. The sound, the view, the snow, the clear sky, the plane. Perfect

  • HOLY COW ITS A ROCKET

  • @MrGhostwhowalks true. I mean legally and safety wise you can fly an aircraft up to redline in smooth air without a problem at all. dont think Ive ever seen an aircraft with a wrong airspeed gauge on it. Im sure Faa doesnt allow that although I havent read that Far. I was just shocked that thats how fast it cruises. I am sure if that the MEL says what kind of gauge it is supposed to have. but any hoot. nice plane!

  • @straighttailpilot

But what you and I don't know is about the recertification of the aircraft. I think when you have such a large change as this recertifying includes airframe and all. I'm not sure you can't fly to top of yellow arc with a change like this. Yes - we all know what redline is - but what about instrument change . . ?.. Contact the video maker if it concerns - I doubt he'd risk a massively expensive rebuild like this.

  • @Alidalbatros Very Nice!!! Thanx.
