French village massacred on the 10th of June 1944 in an unprovoked attack by the Nazi's resulting in the brutal murder of 624 Men, Women and Children. The village was then looted and set alight. A handful of villagers escaped and the village has been left in a ruined state as a memorial to those who died and to ensure they are never forgotten.A new village of the same name has been constructed beside the ruins and although life carries on normally in the new village the feeling of eerieness in the old village is still present but not unique to me as I have come across that feeling once before at Auschwitz.

  • Honor for the Soldiers of Weapon SS " Das Reich"!!!

  • @turbenthal1234 Another typical anonymous comment just like your channel ...no substance or basis in reality.

  • unprovoked my ass.... the gutting and decapitation of German soldiers by partisans is okay? this is news to me.

  • @Rammstein4ever Even if that is true and they were beheaded does that justify killing innocent civilians including women and children. Provoked or not this is an evil act of mass murder...no matter how you try and justify it in your own little mind.

  • still going through your videos very sad place

i would not be able to walk through this town knowing what went on

and if i did i would have to make a trip right after to germany and kick some old men that was in the army right in the BUTT great video sir thank you

  • @aeroliner750 I have been to Auswitch and it was a very surreal experience much like when I visited here. Sadly the lessons of the past have not been learned and atrocities continue all over the world. Idon't think mankind will ever learn.

  • It is a surreal place to visit

  • I have been here and it is very strange feeling, the birds did not seem to sing and when in the church I had a horrible feeling as i imagined how many were packed in the space and how they must have felt with it on fire and grenades coming through the windows, pure evil, one person escaped from the attack and ran away a woman called margerite i believe. When you see all the names on the underground memorial wall it really hits home :( Was pleased though to find no graffiti at all. :)

  • The Oradour Sur Glane slaughter is an example of incredible irony.

The SS were carrying out a reprisal in response to the capture and killing of an SS officer in Oradour Sur Vayres further south, but they got the name wrong.

Oradour Sur Vayres had a lucky escape to say the least!
