Wanna read stuff?! LONG STUFF!?! Because you really love me that much?!?! OK!!!

I love this song. I will never say my version is better, nor was that my intention.

However, I did notice that no one else had done one, so I though I'd take a whack at it.

Firstly, when I first wrote lyrics, I didn't exactly have great lyrics. But I was inspired by users like Corey Maddox, Megami33, geekymcgeekstein, as well as singers like Vic Mignogna and (the original band) Last Alliance... so I've decided that, tonight, I'd not only redo the lyrics, but I'd use them.

What better way to prepare for the talent show (VIDEO COMING SOON) than an incredibly hard song to exercise my vocals to? (The song I'll be performing, if you were wondering, won't be as high and therefore will be much easier).

I do apologize however if some of the high notes are sour or the soft notes can't be heard, or even if my mixing is just plain terrible (there's some staticy parts from overlapping the original track with itself so many times, and they get distracting. Please ignore them).

If you want to comment, feel free to. However, please be constructive with your criticism. If you're purposely mean I'll be mean right back. And if for some reason you like these lyrics and want to use them, I'd appreciate it if you left me a comment or something to ask, or at the very least state that I wrote the lyrics. Trust me, I know how to go troll.

Original title: "Shissou" (Sprint)
Fandub title: "Dash Past the Finish Line"
Original artist: Last Alliance
Lyrics: ryanson209
Vocals: ryanson209
Mixed by ryanson209 (kill me later)

"I run and run five thousand miles... No wonder I'm not breathing.
But won't these liters of adrenaline make this pain suddenly feel relieving?
How much farther must I still come and go? Tell me how far is OK.
The changing patterns of this town's dark damp trees trap me in this incredibly dull day.

The ways of the world may be gone, but I know our weakness will remain,
But if I believe in myself, maybe I can break my chains...

I'll raise my hands high 'til they reach to the sky,
And we'll pierce through this darkness as we go!
No longer live this lie! Decide that we will try!
Soon as you've crossed the starting line, your life's destiny you will know...!

Flickering over and over again, until they choose to die away,
Age-old streetlamps lead a wild goose chase, and I follow them to carve my normal way.

A nostalgic breeze whistles past my hair and blows through this rusty town,
And thus will become a tailwind to keep me from just falling down.

'Til your tears dry away, grab your heart, seize the day,
Tear that resignation form up and stop!
There is no goal today! No coming back this way!
Eternally racing the wind as we sprint past lives we swapped...

Let's return those bitter days, can you open the locks?
I've seen your dreams tucked away hidden inside Pandora's box...

Choose to move last or first, know that no one's the worst,
'Til we move at all, we are still OK!
Resting 'til we've been nursed, we're alright 'til we burst!
The process of how I made it this far is proof that it's a new day...

So I'll raise my hands high 'til they reach to the sky,
We will pierce through this darkness as we go!"

  • im not trying to be mean or a critic but i have herd the song alot and i know the acttual lyrics you did good but thats not the acttual lyrics not to bum you you did really good just next time get the right lyrics

  • It's ok. But my lyrics are more based on, and adapted from, the original translation. I took some effort to TRY and fit meter and rhyme, the latter of which even the Official English version does not have.

  • @viperk1racing Yeah, that's still a problem I'm working on. I was focusing mostly on accuracy,

I didn't do this all at once. If I did it'd be worse, trust me lol.

I have no excuse for singing out of tune lol, but the mic I was using was a headset. I also put this together in Windows Media Player, which may or may not be why the dead air happens -- everything I've recorded through it (and try to multitrack, which is impossible) turns to static and dead air. Ugh.

  • @ryanson209 I think he's on about Justin Houston - the guy who did the ending for the dubbed version.

Whilst I applaud you for doing your own lyrics, they sound rather awkward to me - there seems to be a lack of natural flow.

The vocals...so-so - parts sound horribly forced and some parts are wildly out of tune. Finally, however, the static. What is your mic doing to cause so much NOISE?

  • the quality could be a lot better but otherwise awesome job

  • You sound a lot like Vic xD Well done, and good adaption

  • brilliant just shame the mics a little fizzy

  • Its wonderful! <3

I mean, the quality is bad but sure, whatever

    your singing is WONDERFUL! ~
