@owaffs Thanks for the support, but to quote someone on a metafilter thread on the same subject: ""Stupider" has been used by Jane Austen, Mark Twain, Henry James, and so on, so its acceptability isn't anything new." While you may be TECHNICALLY correct that "stupider" is poor form, I think Stephen Fry would give you a right tsk-tsking on this one.

I'm on your side in your argument with diaalexguy, but just as a heads up, "stupider" isn't actually a word, the correct phrase would be "more stupid" (its opposite being intelligent. Just like more/less interesting/boring). Hope that helps. :)

I am seriously tearing up at how much I love how Charlie Brooker looks for what actually happened, how idealistically he wants the truth: focussing even on how the Haitian people with the boxes were having *fun* with each other, and how twistedly it was reported.

It's a genuine service, you know? Dissecting things to give the true story. It's hugely good for us.
