Ah damn I should find the title back but it was in the saga, way later with Caramon's son. In a futur where magic was nearly gone. Caramon's son (whom I don't remember the name) enter Raistlin tower and enter Tarkhisis' realm, to find Raistlin.... and I said too much, I won't tell anymore I said enough. (But yeah, basically the part when he died from Tarkhisis was hell of a shock).

Raistlin and Tas are the two funniest characters, sometimes Caramon and Flint, but Raistlin's sarcasm is hilarious. I freaked out when he died in the book.

After reading through the comments it seems the same problem comes up when a book is made into a movie...everyone has their own visual idea as to how each character sounds and looks. Since both of the writers were on the project I kinda trust them when they said that;s how they wanted Raistlin to sound like. These books were written 25 years ago or so, so it is possible that they have reworked how they wanted some characters to sound. Maybe?
