Larry Carlton - Misty

This was my first vid ever watching the much talked about Larry Carlton. Now I see why! So melodic.....and what a tone! Cheers to the great Tal Farlow as well~!!!!!!

In my opinion this video is a true CLASSIC! Two guitar masters from different generations and styles playing one of the truely classic songs of our time. The best part is the're having fun with it and enjoying each others totally different takes on the song plaing in front of a great rythym section. It's whats known as a musical orgasm!!

Two freakin' guitar masters with an unbelieveably great bassist! Larry, Tal, and John are killers and the drummer isn't too shabby either!

The bass player is John Patitucci! Don't you know him? I just don't understand the meaning of static harmony taking away from the melody line! What a pity!!!

To clear up any confusion..the accompanying guitarist playing Melody-chord style is Tal Farlow..

Why the hell is the bass player playing such a static harmony? It takes away from the melody line..whatever.

God...is that John Patitucci on bass?
It's seem he never change from that day.

It would be amazing if they were at the same age. That's gonna rock!!!!

Larrry's musical playing here is Very NICE. He's playing what a sax player might normally do - the jazzy melody with some bluesy twists. The magic in this vid is the historic pairing of Larry Carlton with the late, great jazz guitar pioneer Tal Farlow on the other guitar. Tal ain't flashy, but his chord-melody playing is beautiful, piano -like and super jazzy. Without what guys like Tal did in the 1940s/50s- you don't get the 'newer' jazzy guys like Larry...(who can do chord melody too).
