The use of digital technology has transformed the efficiency of government. But at what price? Since no tweet or email can ever truly be deleted, what does this mean to our parliamentary system of government which is based on decisions being made behind the closed doors of caucus and cabinet?

The 2013-14 Featured Lecture Series theme is Technology and Governance. Digital communications is transforming political and public life. Are governments in Canada capitalizing on the latest communication technologies for internal operations and to engage more comprehensively with the public? With citizens becoming digitally savvy, governments must respond to the realities of the communication revolution in order to stay connected and relevant in the lives of Canadians.
