Il 18 maggio 1911 una forma incurabile di endocardite pose fine alla vita terrena di Gustav Mahler. Nel mio piccolo, cent'anni dopo, mi permetto di celebrarne il ricordo, accomunando le serene note del "Blumine" alle immagini di quel mondo floreale dal quale Mahler trasse ispirazione proprio per quella breve composizione, poi caduta nell'oblio, per volere del suo stesso creatore. Dall'oblio ne riemerse cinquant'anni dopo, in quella stessa epoca aurea in cui la grandezza di Mahler trovò finalmente il suo pieno riconoscimento. Buon riposo, Gustl.
