These are a pair of Helium Neon laser tubes I got from e-Bay for $20 bucks. I am powering them with a 6kv 30ma NST using a variac to control the input voltage on the NST. I am using a 3CU3A half wave tube rectifier to give the tube DC voltage. There seems to be some kind of blue reflection coming from the tube in a flat vertical direction perpendicular to the tube, I'm not sure what's causing that?

  • @TechKidusa Yes it is. You need HV DC to run a HeNe laser. I think I got mine from an old TV as well.
