A little ukulele comparison for my virtual friends BeareTube and Wininboy - and everyone else with a particular liking for vintage Martin ukuleles!
The ukes in this video (all mahogany soprano's):
- 1950s style 0 (strings: Hilo)
- 1960s style 1 (strings: Aquila)
- 1920s style 2 (strings: Worth CM)
- 1940s style 3 (strings: Worth CM)
The song is Roy Smeck's Magic Ukulele Waltz.

where we can find the tabs? In my opinion on the Martin in mahogany the best strings are Worth Clear...I'm curious to try the worth clear FAT...

Roy Smeck would have been proud of that playing- lovely, if I could play like that Id never get anything else done. Thank you what a joy, wish I was your neighbour and you practised with the windows open.

I like the sound of the the 1920s style 2 best ; it seems "warmer" than the others. Could this be attributed to it being a 20s instrumen, the Worth Cm strings - or possibly a combination of the two?

I have just got an old Style 2 recently .Would you recommend me which strings suit it ,worth or aquilla? I love warm ,vintage sound.

@tickyplus I think Worth CM are the best choice for old Martins. Congrats on the uke!
