I collect records of the 80s. I used to have many crates when I was a teen but over the years my collection went down to about 10 records. Thanks to ebay and amazon i have been able to rebuild my collection and since 1998 my collection had grown massively. My biggest collection is of Cyndi Lauper. I have 83 records just on her alone. from 12" singles, imports, etc

I work with a friend who has about 9000 records. He spread the virus and now I slowly start to collect records. He had this idea of showing his collection on our tv programme. So we started out just showing the records on music, but now we changed it into a biography item. And we also put it on our youtube page.

@squezey1 one else has lost everything with no hope of getting it all back because they put all their trust in the digital. Sorry for this long amount of text here but that's just how I type get used to it.

@squezey1 I have 4 more vinyls being shipped to me now. You heard my story and now you too should start collecting your favorite stuff now because soon it's all gonna be digital except for some popular music and some devoted artists. Pretty sad because no it is like you need a computer for music. What's gonna happen when there is no computer or digital media player to use if something devestating happens that renders them useless? Well us collectors are just going to laugh unaffected while every

@squezey1 , maybe I was just high as fuck that day and wasn't thinking straight, who knows. Anyways I also have 25 vinyls in my small collection favorites with about of course 2 that I just bought in the moment with a little extra money to spend because they were rare and in genre I loved that is almost impossible to find anything physical for and1 that I also just bought because I wanted to check it out and it was super cheap, so really I have 22 favorites there.

@HunterMann Yeah everything is going completely digital, even CD's are going down in production when you aren't counting popular music. I have a CD and a vinyl collection. My CD one is massive at 98 CD's with 2 that I have no clue why I bought because I don't even like them (2 CD's by Testament, but hey I guess every collector has those in their collection and they don't know how they got there or just got them because they were free or wanted to support a artist).

@Rush1013 Yes, but not always easy to find legit sources. eBay's feedback system has its loopholes the scammers figure out, so that's never a for sure. That guy in Seattle bought the LP in the parking lot on the first day of their bog show&sale. The guy was loading boxes onto his cart, acting like he was a booth dealer, but never actually pushed his cart into the event venue... As with anything, if a price is too good to be true, it probably is a scam. For now, I'm sticking to thrift shops.

@Iamcola65 If that's your attitude, then you might wake up: it is NOT 2012, it's still 2011(hello?!!), and CD's are also going the same extinction route of LPs, cassettes, 8-track tapes, 78's and cylinder records. Last I checked, most people are downloading their music, so that CD you are praising is headed for the thrift shop bins too. I will always collect vinyl and love it when the CD and MP3 people dump their whole LP collections at the thrift stores!
Digital is not analog, yo!
I agree fully. You buy records to enjoy them. I collect mint to near mint albums but I play them. These so called collectors who spend $1,000 on a sealed album because it's rare and sit it on a shelf have more money then brains. I think condition is important but enjoying your purchase even more. Records are meant to be enjoyed by being listened to

LOL at the part where he says he almost passed out when he found a certain record, I know the feeling but that was genuine right there
