In a twist on traditional aid appeals reporter Sorious Samura visits his home country of Sierra Leone and Uganda not to beg for cash but to reveal how aid money is lost, stolen and frittered away.
He visits a showpiece hospital run by a well funded health department that looks like a warzone and yet its carpark is home to dozens of new 4x4s for ministry staff. He questions a former minister accused of stealing funds and offers his vision of how Africans can take control of their own destiny.

Money is going to the wrong people in Africa and the government know this yet they keep sending money to these corrupt people rather than dispelling the problem. its like the saying "why get your hands dirty when you can pay someone else to do it" they obviously want African countries to stay in their current situations. all it takes is education. if people knew how to develop they will, but with all the money going to the wrong places, how do you expect teachers to teach with no supplies?

Arabs nations are made up of a mixture of cultures and if you travel to Arabian countries in the middle east you will find communities of black people who have lived there for thousands of years. Arabs usually discriminate on culture than skin pigment unless the individual in question is significantly lighter or darker than the Arabs themselves. Arabs were really bad but the Europeans were the same.

.lol. I said nothing regarding this topic so you bringing it up is futile due to me already knowing this extensively. Arabs have been keeping slaves from north and east Africa for thousands of years aswel as slaves from Europe and Asia, but Africans have also kept slaves from Europe and Asia. Europe and Asia just took it to another level. Some Arabs still keep domestic slaves today, but there are many Europeans who keep sex slaves. Stop being high and mighty...

.lol. I've seen the program and I thought it was interesting, but the fact that the reporter decided to make himself appear ignorant by using the race card has nothing to do with other black people. Africa is a CONTINENT (emphasis on this word). And like every continent it has a wide variety of people and cultures. You will have to be blind if you can't see that not all Africans are black. look at the people who generally live there, the islands bordering the Mediterranean and north Africa.

It is not true that Sierra Leoneans are completely incapable of looking after themselves. Global Action Foundation built the clinic in Kono with Dr Barrie's amazing effort to circumvent all problems to make the clinic a roaring success. Education is the key. Getting the money to foundations like Global Action insures that the money reaches the people and the projects in need.
