@xavier1850 I agree. This was a favorite of Cugat's, but this is one of his best arrangements. I think it captures what Cole Porter was after when he composed it. The beguine is a special type of rumba and it was Cugat who popularized rumba for US audiences. Artie Shaw's "Begin the Beguine" is also a flavorful version.
I don' t think there is any better version. I like many arrangements, but this one is remarkable and full of rythm. The long lines are accented with the percussion, better for latin dance. Thanks.
