  • Aye Fam ! Good Looks On The Rap Vocals EQ ! Big Help I'm Doing A Mixtape & I Have Pro Tools But I Don't Know How To Get A Dope Delay Like In Common Rap Songs & Also Im Struggling To Find EQ's For Pop / R&B Vocals , Any Tips ? & I'll Probably Pay You To Mix The Project Once I'm Done

  • @TeamFabolous First you must have the tempo of the beat.. it is a must..... then you can play with different f=delays and setting to get the sound you want...

  • Im a beginner when it come to mixing can you do a quick step by step mix tutiurioal and i will learn the rest plz do it on vocals

  • @sugahillind there isn't a step by step mixing setup fam.. it's more to it then that fam... we got a social Network setup for producers... it is a phatassmixes com click the forum button there..

  • For the Frequencies that your not using like in your example, like LF & LMF, does it matter if the "IN" is on or not? Does it affect the EQ in any way being ON or OFF?

  • @408salvador no it doesn't matter if they are not being used in anyway you can click them off..

  • Ayw Will, how can I get thicker chorus without having to re-record myself about 4-6 times?

  • I got two questions and I think you answered one before long long time ago, but if you have an imported instrumental stereo track where should they be panned in the middle or hard left and right? Question 2. when recording my vocals where should the fader first be set at 0db or should I place it at a lower db? Please let me know and help me out with this one

  • @RichMWC It can depend on how far you are from your microphone, also make sure you get a good gain stage before you record so you can have a nice hot signal, don't let it be a few dBs from clipping but keep it around the beginning of the yellow starts in the meter, that way you have good head room. You can try to add somewhere between 200Hz - 600Hz to add a little beefiness to your vocals, but be careful because if you don't add the right frequency it can get muddy, also use compression.

  • Your EQ output is clipping you might want to lower that for no digital distortion, also on your compressor. There is no "good" ratio for any compression on vocals or anything else, it all depends where your ratio is and your threshold is at, depends on how much gain reduction you want to do. The gain isn't there because it is "too low for you" it is there to make up the gain you lost during compression, for example if you doing 4dB of gain reduction, you make up 4dBs. Good attempt though.
