Indian migrant workers are being duped by agents and forced into debt as they make their way to the Gulf to find work. On their return to India many are finding the burden too much. Al Jazeera's Bernard Smith reports.

is there any way to connect with the families and help them? I am North American and it wouldn't take much from someone here to help those people out of their situation. I was thinking about that poor old lady at the end of the video who was shaking and had a small child to care for because both the parents had commited suicide, this is terrible and people in places such as North America could help these people so easily we would hardly even notice it. I would love to help someone.

@shaweesh I understand your points what my point was Muslims through out history are right behind the white man for genocides commited and having people enslaved am I not right ? I know Islam in general isn't a bad religion if you follow it properly but there's way too many extremists. Then Muslims whine when Indians do the same thing in India to Muslims like they do to others in their country like Pakistan etc. Even Dubai was completely built by Indian slaves who are still there to this day.

@commonsen5e Hindu Kush.... Terrible thing in history! War is never good... But in history we have seen many of it which doesn't make it right!! India was a target of many different invaders other than Muslims! Example.. Mongols, Christian Europeans.. etc. If your referring to the acts of Taliban I condone their actions and BTW their a terrorist organization and do the opposite of what Islam teaches us! @commonsen5e That being said the Pharaoh's have enslaved black ppl among many different other people... Pharaohs are NOT Arabs! Alexander the great have enslaved different people of color his NOT Arab...etc! Arabs have had black people as slaves and they also had Arabs as slaves for a long time.. many others before and after them have also had the same thing so ur point is what here???

@commonsen5e lol... Slavery existed since the beginning of mankind and it wasn't because of COLOR it was because of greed, either money or superiority! Arab's became known because of their Arabic language.. Idol worshiping Arabs, Jewish Arabs, Christian Arabs and then Muslim Arabs. The Quran was in Arabic so it was the ideal language! Whoever was born with his native language as Arabic would be considered Arab...

@shaweesh Arabs had the black man in slavery for a long time, you should check that out not a lot of black people know about it. Then search up the Hindu holocaust, Indians have been targets of muslims for a long long time, search the real definition of the Hindu Kush up. These facts can't be argued, I highly doubt ANY Indian would give 2 shits about a muslim after knowing these facts. .

I'm also not defending every single person as im sure many were abusing such things to save a buck! but you dont have to blame a whole ethnic group or religion by actions based on a few! You know you could find similar things with Indians but we dont consider all of as bad!! So chill out and try to communicate better I'm sure you'll get a better response AND RESULTS when you do so...
