What do you expect serriously when your church activly funds and become a pressure group for witholding the civil rights of others - there are consequences

@candiceevans1 What does the sexual abuse of children have to do with gay rights? That is criminal and always will be. Gay rights is about CONSENTING ADULTS (children can not consent to sex, therefore it is illegal) doing what they want with other CONSENTING ADULTS. The Bible should have nothing to do with how the government is run. The Bible can tell you how to live your life but not everyone's life. Not everyone in the US is a the same type of Christian as you, let alone Christian at all.

@candiceevans1 The bible also specifically says "thou shalt not kill", but it also says its my duty to kill my son if he tries to convert me to another religion. I'm supposed to love my neighbor, unless of course he works on the Sabbath, then its my duty to kill him. women are supposed to sacrifice two turtles every time they menstrate. wearing polyester goes against the bible. believers are immune to poison, ect. the bible says alot of things, that doesn't mean they're true.

@Cledith7 Why do you have to hate? Are you a self-loathing closet case?

@theguythatplaysbass all the men of the village, gay or straight, would have sex with the stranger to display dominance and so the stranger knew who was in charge. god destroyed the village because he dislined of the custom because you are required to love thy neighbor.

@cbhockenbury Many Christians missinterprate that particular story in the bible because many christians aren't familiar with the cultures of the middle east during that time period. since the men of the village wanted to have sex with the two angels that visited the village, you automatically assume the story is about homosexuality, when in fact, its actually a story about bad hospitality. their was a custom during that time in the middle east that if a man visited a village he did not reside in

What do you expect to happen when you flaunt an opposing view at a rally?

Does anyone see the irony in this video?

They Are Just Sheets Blowing In The Wind. LOL
The US is not a theocracy! It is a secular country and was made that way from the beginning. You can believe anything you want but have no right to force your desert fairy tales on anyone else. Your right to believe stops when you infringe on the rights of other human beings. You do not get to vote on civil rights.

Hmmm...actually I think it's both. Remember that the Founding Fathers were well aware of the state-sponsored Anglican Church in England and the influence of Rome in European political affairs at one time. Clearly they felt that government shouldn't be involved in organized religion. Doesn't mean that they were all atheists or deists, though.
