The Lion King is my all time favourite Disney movie. When I watched this movie for the very first time I was about 6 and I was hooked. I watched it whenever I could, and I don't think there's a Disney movie I have watched more often. This is also one of the very few Disney movies that still has the same impact on me. I cry every single time. Mufasa's death will always be devastating and heart-breaking to me.

Right now I'm going though a rough time. I'm dealing with a million things at once and at some points it just becomes too much. After re-watching The Lion King for the umpteenth time I decided to vid it, because I could relate to the movie so much. I felt like Simba and I were dealing with the same stuff (although not literally of course) and I just had to do something with that feeling. I had no idea what I was doing while working on this video, I was just.. getting rid of my feelings I guess. This video makes me cry whenever I watch it because truly, I poured out my heart and soul into this one. It has become my diary and I'm actually a bit sad that it's finished cause now I can't work on it anymore. I'll have to find a new project I suppose..

Anyway, sorry for the rant. I want to thank every single one of my friends who have been there for me during the past few weeks. It means so much to me that you didn't let me down even though I was incredibly depressed most of the time. It really means the world to me that you guys stayed with me. I love you all, I really do. Thanks for everything. I won't forget this.

Hope you can enjoy this video even though it's a bit dark and sad-ish.

  • 1:20 gave me chills, such a wonderful video. Great job

  • This is so sadly beautiful :(

  • @soupshop !..if IT was ordor...' (you know my broken "t").

  • WHERE IS THE LOVE BUTTON? I'D PUSH IT HARD. :')

damn you for using such an emotional instrumental. ugh - i's beautiful. plus, your description...couldn't agree more & hugging the shit out of you.

on another note: you have this certain editing style. if i was ordor, i could smell it miles away.

  • Awww. This is my fave animated film and I'm so excited it is coming to BD next week. I adore the music, too. I was in middle school when it came out and we got to play a medley from it in our spring concert. LOVED it. Great editing here. I'm not around nearly as much as I used to be, but I'm very sorry to hear you're having such a rough time. I will keep you in my thoughts. *hugs* T

  • Watching again, crying again, still amazed by the awesomeness of this video. Lonneke, I just ADORE this video «333.

  • I think the emotion in this video is contagious. Not simply feelings of nostalgia or sympathy for Simba or anything one would think of automatically either, it's almost like this video is a reflective glass for emotion of all kinds. You pour your heart into it, people see their own hearts reflected back........I dunno, maybe I sound crazy, but that's just what I think.

P.S. Lovely editing and colouring as usual of course. :-]

  • [PART 2] Overall, I think this is one of my favourite videos from you. You did amazing «333. Thank you for vidding this movie and doing it justice.

  • WHAT ARE YOU DOING TO ME DD: ?! .. I'm crying like a baby over here. You used my all time worst cry movie with one of my all time worst cry songs. That's a double combination of tearjerker. But it was a beautiful one, really emotional. Your editing fits with the song and I like how you used overlayers but didn't make them so noticable that it would distract from the video. I think my favourite part was at 1:20, with Simba on the pride rock. That growl with the music is just so powerful.

  • This is so beautiful *-* Amazing vid, great job :')
