ok i take flying lessons in real life. I use fsx for help. then used xplane. it almost made me **** it"s so fucking bad! if you want a sim get fsx or fs9. i perfer fsx though. I hope i solved the problem.

X-plane lacks quality addons like PMDG and most of their addons don't have virtual cockpits. Orbx, Carenado, fsdreamteam, wilco, justflight, CLS, etc all quality addons that continue to develop and update FSX.  Ill be getting PMDG 777, Coolsky DC-9, and Ground Service X soon (with it, i can get luggage trucks, catering and animated people to come around and service my aircraft). My flight school exclusively uses FSX to train us and I'll be gettting my private pilots license in the Summer!

Xplane 10 is great but if you have been given an aircraft and you want better (even happy to pay!), you can't most aircrafts are not made professionaly, in xp 10, there is a very well improved 747-400, but still many things are not clickable and not operational, Fromm what i know this is never the case with PMDG 747-400, yes you pay but atleast its an option!!!!

@Magicpianoteacher X-Plane 10. You see, this is what I hate. Since FSX is the most used flight simulator it is always the best. You give no other sim a chance. XP10 is actually revolutionary. Just search XP10 on YouTube and you will see...

X-Plane 9 and 10 are the best for a lot of reasons...

1. They use Blade-Element theory, which makes it much, much more realistic than FSX and FS9 combined.

2. X-Plane 10 has Open Street Map, which places all the roads almost accurately.

3. It does not crash randomly in mid-flight, unlike FSX which will make an error and then you have to restart the program.

I am keeping FSX as my secondary flight simulator, but for now, I'll use X-Plane 9 (I'll get X-Plane 10 later) as my primary.

@Magicpianoteacher Why don't you check out X-Plane 10, which uses Google Street Map so the roads are where they are in real life, the planes are much more realistic than FSX and the flying is much more realistic. To say anything, I think FSX is much more "cartoony" than X-Plane.
