With upwards of 30 shortline operations between North & South Carolina, there is never any shortage of interesting sights to be had for those looking beyond the Class One happenings. Here, from June 2007, you will see personal faves Carolina Southern (CALA), Aberdeen Carolina & Western (ACWR), Lancaster & Chester (LC) & South Carolina Central (SCRF). Highlights include a heavy L&C grain train on Richburg Hill...and the legendary track conditions of the CALA.

i love watching these shorty vids! i love the diversity of motive power. everything from ALCO's to 1st generation gp's.they are just so much more interesting than watching class 1 roads, were the only time you get to see anything but gevo's and a few sd's, is when the local comes through.

Gosh, those tracks are in horrible shape. But of course, on a shortline they don't need speed anyway. Interesting, to watch the rock and roll. :)
