This is a video that helps explain cleaning your Driver clutch on Comet and MaxTorque clutches.

Just like anything kart related, parental supervision is necessary for any persons under 18 years of age.

I also have a write-up on cleaning your clutch on DIY Go-Karts - http://www.diygokarts.com

  • Hey man, great videos! I have a comet 20 series and there seems to be so much wrong with it. For one the hub doesnt go through the clutch. I have tried everything! It just gets stuck. another is the springs are fine but my actual clutch spins around. and finally the hub has a ton of play. It has shredded like 5 belts and I just dont know what to do anymore. any help?

  • @Powerstrokekid1 Comet series 20 clutch are fairly inexpensive online, you might be able to find one on sites as cheap as 80 dollars which might be the solution versus 5 belts at 30 dollars each. If the hub has massive play the splines are worn out and the clutch has had extensive use.

  • Is their a way to tune these things? I know snowmobiles have different weights and springs for theirs to tune them for peak HP, but I was wondering if it was possible/ worth spending money on with these comet clutches.

  • @pballinurface There are different engagement springs you can contact Hoffco about regarding stall if you are interested.
