Hi- thanks for the input. Actually got the left hand version for all the reasons you stated...and I couldn't be happier. Fired it for the first time today. Flawless. And I love the left side ejection. It really DOES make a difference. And yes, I mounted an Eotech without a riser and it works fine as you have stated. A friend was shooting it at an indoor range and I was watching closely from the bay next to it with glass in between. No ejection problems and not even hitting the dust cover.

@Dyer3503 In order to make a totally left-handed rifle; reversing both the upper and lower receivers, would also require having proprietary magazines making bulk purchasing GI or Magpul magazines impossible, increasing the end-user costs. I own a 2HL upper mated to a DPMS A-15 lower; I have absolutely no complaints whatsoever. I took it upon myself to modify the lower for a more ambidextrous function, which added some expense, but those are modifications I made prior to getting the lefty upper.

@Antiworld23 stag arms makes both right and left handed conversion kits for about $220 with a 25 Rnd. mag. additional mag are 20 or 30 bucks
-
@GunWebsites yes but that has also been done before they just continued it by making small adjustments to the lower

I own two of these rifles. I would like to know if anyone received very "Crappy" magazines with the rifle, and if your magazine well showed some sort of wear. I did buy these from a licensed dealer (gotten several jams because the magazine got stuck internally (the part that pushes up the rounds, and I am not able to load more than 10 rounds into it).

@Antiworld23 Stag actually makes their own left-handed .22 conversion kit with their own conversion mags as well. I just found that out last night. Surprised as hell (pleasantly, of course)

@Antiworld23 CMMG .22LR comes in Left hand version as well..... a little out dated reply but thought I would post for others to see. Hope this helps.

i love my stag 5l. is there a mod for my charging handle? it is very awkward to operate.
-
hardly left handed they didnt change the charging handle which is the first thing i would expect them to do apart from the mag release which they also didnt change
so if anything this is a cheap way to call the firearm left handed

Why'd they reverse the forward assist? If you're a lefty, you can easily hit the assist with your off hand.

how much was that sampson quadrail?
My complaint with stag arms is they took the cheap way out when it came to making it a "left handed" model... All they did is get a left ejecting upper receiver, and they placed it on a right handed lower receiver with the safety selector swapped out... its still a right handed milled lower receiver, with right handed mag release, even the selector switch bumps are still there... Very cheap Stag, very cheaply done...
Is there a company who makes a true left handed lower receiver?

@Dyer3503
Hardly the "cheap" way IMO.. to design and machine a working (time tested) reversed upper

Help requested! I was about to purchase Stag model 2L (lefty version) and the guy at the store (Marine rifle instructor) tried for 20 mins tell me that I should not do it. He shoots left and prefers a right hand rifle. Says no problem with brass/gas, and he prefers being able to assess the bolt/chamber faster with a rt rifle. He also said the lefty dust cover swinging up will operate poorly with an eotech sight and cause ejection problems. Any thoughts?? Rt or left Stag for a lefty?

great question, I tend to agree with him. The left had version isn't a necessity, it's a convenience.. but since so many guns are made right handed, most left handed shooters adapt and many prefer 'right handed' guns

Does anyone know if the CMMS .22LR conversion kit will work in a Stag left-handed upper?
Antiworld23 2 years ago
