In Germany there are many rare musical folk instruments. One of them is the Hamburger waldzither, a local kind of cittern in an open C tuning.

  • Hi, i will be traveling in Southern Germany later this month, and i was wondering if this instrument is one that can be found throughout the country, or just in the north.

  • @JDH694 This specific instrument is not very common any more. It was spread mainly in the 1920 - 40ies. In the north they had these special machine heads. There´s also a Thüringer Waldzither. Its a similar instrument like this, but with a guitar head. Unfortunately they are no longer really common. I guess we are the only shop who still makes them.

  • Hi - the price inclusive shipping would be 820 canadian dollar
