@0LuckyInternetUser0 I am from Quebec originally, I can tell you. This area of Quebec was settled originally by Loyalists. These were American colonials loyal to Britain so they refused to be part of an indepedent USA. About 5% of the English Canadians are loyalists.

As a result, many towns in Southern Quebec have English names but nowadays the population is more French speaking. But you can still see many Anglican churches (Episcopalian as the Yanks would say).
