This is a video of 2 separate excursions of 35028 Clan line.
We start out at Worplesdon Station just south of Woking to see Merchant Navy class 35028 Clan Line hauling the VSOE Luncheon Special on the 6th November 2009 being backed up by 67008. Using my Dads video camera I was able to catch it working hard up the incline towards the station.
The next stop was intended to be just past Chilworth in the Surry Hills but due to a lack of knowledge of the area and a rubbish map, I took a wrong turn going through Guilford. Unfortunately by the time my error was corrected I was too late. I arrived at Chilworth Station only to see other photographers packing up. But to make up for it I managed to film a fox crossing the railway line lol.
Next we cut to Armistice Day where I was proudly wearing my Poppy and on location at Grateley Station. 35028 Clan line once again thundered through hauling the VSOE special bellowing white smoke as it went. Again being backed up by 67008. Unfortunately my dads was using the good camera and I was forced to make do with my Sony Cybershot, hense the slightly grainy footage.
Now it was a short drive down the A303 on my trusty motorbike to a little village called Stockton in the Wylye Valley. Luckily when I arrived a local farmer had turned out to see it by the level crossing on his land and opened the gates for us to give a better view. Before anyone says Im trespassing, Im not. Im lined up with where the gate closes, therefore not on Railtrack property.
Then Clan line sped through working hard up the incline. Unfortunately there was a helicopter circling above shadowing Clan line on its journey.
Next we cut to my Dads choice of location at Westbury station. Annoyingly he changed his camera setting to 16:9 whereas mine was 4:3 so this made for the unavoidable blocks at the top and bottom of the last shots.
We see Clan line arriving at Westbury showing off the immaculate condition the engine is kept in. 10/10 for the cleaners involved. It then shunts itself and it's support coach to a siding behind the train for general maintenance. The class 67 then runs around to take over for the last stretch up to Bristol Temple Meads.
This concludes the video of the legendary Venice Simplon Orient Express.
I hope you enjoyed watching it.

Well, Taplow Station is very good especially in Day Light! There a quite country lane bridge at a very small village called Ruscombe, near Twyford, can be found of Google Earth! Twyford Station is also quite good! Also look for Shottesbrooke which is a village between Twyford and Maidenhead, there is a good road bridge there! If you look at some of my videos at there locations you will see what I mean!
