Not long ago I was visiting a dual civilian airfield that handled authorized military landings, and an Apache Longbow flew in. I thought that it was probably a civilian owned one from one of the Apache display teams as it didn't appear to have its nose optics, but it turned out to be a genuine military Apache.
I chatted with the pilot\gunner (don't know which) for bit and then recorded him lifting off. I couldn't see it's marking so I don't know which squadron it was from. He did tell me, but I've forgotten.
Anyway, it was still a cool experience.
The backwash from the Apache is pretty strong. Stronger than from any other helicopter that I've seen take off. That's what the camera starts wobbling just as the helicopter turns its back to the camera.
The camera on my phone has a low frame rate, so it almost looks like the blades are standing still. If you look closely you can see small bursts of flame coming out of the Starboard side engine.
i like how it looks like the main prop is barely spinning
