D. Ray White was widely thought to be the best mountain dancer in America before his murder in 1985. He's still a legend in Boone County, West Virginia and beyond. His son, Jesco White, is the Dancing Outlaw.

i think its cool and sad at the same time.people laugh at this stuff,i have known of the dancin outlaw for almost 20 years now.if you take the publicity out of it these are just people who live the the way theyre family has always done,and they dont give a shit what some asshole thinks of them,its a amazing feeling when u can let go and live life instead of being a stuffed shirt stuck up people pleasing p.o.s.it is very liberating to not mind how people veiw you,more people should try it and see

My family line comes from the same place, and still own our own mountain top on Turtle Creek. Fact of the matter is you can move any where to make it and live but once it is in your blood it will never go away F#@k society and any one who doesn't like the way I live. Maybe if more people lived that way we could put more psychiatrist and therapists out of business!
