Who Are You?

We should all strive to be like the mollusk Nautilus. If you don't know what a Nautilus is, google it! Chances are you have picked one up on a beach somewhere. The Nautilus goes about its life wandering the sea floors and coral reefs. Everywhere it goes, it collects a "little something" from that environment and uses it as material to build its shell. So when we look at a beautiful Nautilus shell, we know that it is a product of many years of wandering the corners of the vast oceans, collecting experiences. ( The Nautilus lives an incredible 20 years. An eternity compared to other mollusks that live only a few months)
The shell building process of this animal is symbolic of the development of an individual's persona. Just as the Nautilus changes the material it absorbs from the places it visits and makes it part of itself, so the bits of knowledge a person acquires from different experiences undergo a similar change and become part of their persona. Life's experiences...sights, smells, sounds, people you meet, stories your hear, a sunset, a great book...they all contribute to who you are as a person. You are, truly, the sum of your experiences.

Todos deveriamos almejar ser como o molusculo Nautilus. Se voce nao sabe o que e um Nautilus, busque no google! Com certeza voce ja encontrou um numa praia qualquer.
O Nautilus passa sua vida percorrendo o vasto oceano. Por todo lugar que passa, ele absorve uma pequenina parte desse lugar, ele a processa e a usa para continuar construindo a sua concha. O Nautilus vive incriveis 20 anos, uma eternidade se comparado a outros molusculos que somente vivem alguns meses.
O processo de construcao da concha do Nautilus, e simbolico de como nos desenvolvemos a nossa pessoa, o nosso "eu". Assim como o Nautilus absorve e processa particulas por onde ele passa e as usa para formar a sua propia concha, nos construimos o nosso "eu" a partir das experiencias que temos durante nossas vidas. Sons, cheiros, imagens, pessoas que conhecemos, estorias que voce escuta, um bom livro, um por do sol...tudo isso contribui para formar a sua concha pessoal. Somos todos, afinal, a soma de nossas experiencias
