Try A7 instead of A and see how that sounds to you.

The last chord is G6. Yeah.

@gdholmfirth A or A7 works..doesn't really matter....John never played a G6...see Ed Sullivan show....neither did George.....they make the G6 chord just with their vocals.....John hits a D....George an E...and Paul a high G

I watched John doing this on drop in 1963. Em started in 7th pos., then A in 5th with open A string, C open pos, without G in bass. Then looks like G open pos, with D on the b-string, Em open, Bm 2nd pos., D open pos. with F# on d-string with pinky. Cm in 3rd pos.
