  • He isn't a vet since he didnt see fight he only was only a driver.

  • Its amazing to think how long this man lived. Horses and cars were both equally popular in transportation. you could buy a couple acres of land for $15. its just amazing.

  • Soon WWII veterans will be gone. Let's be thankful. Not just American veterans. British, Australian, Russian, German-yes Germans. German soldiers were only fighting for their homeland. Don't trash talk them

  • God Bless this great man and all veterans everywhere!

  • @DaedalusReturned

not all the member of WW1 had to be station at the front lines fighting! give him credibility...

I actually am surprised you didn't get flamed to hell for thinking armed forces members need to get shot and shoot people in order to get any respect.

  • @DaedalusReturned

I see you didn't read anything beyond him not seeing combat. The point is he joined during a time of war wanting to help. He joined wanting to help fight the good fight and even lied about his age to get through. Just because fate prevented him from being on the frontlines shooting bad guys doesn't mean we shouldn't praise his sacrifice. Plus, you think driving ambulances for wounded soldiers and helping malnourished children isn't praise worthy?

  • RIP Frank, 110 years old is a great feat, and what you did for the world - just like Harry patch who lived to be 111 and another who lived 113, you all did great service just like the other 65 million soldiers who fought in the great war - RIP hero.

  • It's funny, I heard about this news when I picked up my mail. It was a magazine (Veterans of Foreign Wars) that had been misplaced (it was my 80-Year-Old Neighbor's mail). I had seen cover and saw Buckles on it, quickly flipped to the page, and read the biography. Destiny, eh?
