What fun!! My grandad had a VW dealership in Washington, D.C. in the '50s...they sold out of them as fast as they could order them. There was an old gray one, a 1957, I think, that they kept as a parts-running car...

Man, two minute commercials.

Good old days, when there was still room on the roads, as far less people had a car....

The actor's delivery is a little broad and vaudevillian, but we had the same type of comics with the same exaggerated delivery in the US back in the 40's and 50's. It's not unpleasant, but the emphasis today is on being natural.
