What is amazing is how he managed to live, eat, pay rent, etc. before the re-match in 1992 with Spassky. There was no money in chess before then, even when he won the World Championship in 1972. How in the world did he live with his sister when their mother moved out? Wikipedia doesn't address this condition.

One of the weird things about Fischer was that he didn't walk "normally" but instead sort of lumbered along like an ape as if he couldn't be bothered thinking about how to look coordinated. always thought that was strange
