Portofino part 1: This classic seaside village along the northwest coast of Italy is preserved in the old-fashioned style as a designated national historic treasure. Located just a few miles from convenient hotels in Santa Margherita, which is connected by convenient public bus that provides one of the most scenic, bargain rides in the world. You will be able to spend most of the day strolling along the cafe-lined harbor of Portofino and exploring its little back-streets with many shops, specializing in lace and other fabrics. Walk up on the hill overlooking the port for a spectacular view.

  • Thanks. That's mean that there is Taxi rank in Santa Margherita Station? How about Hotel Domina Home Piccolo? Do you know if it is far away from the bus stop? Is there any map for the bus stops?

  • @laimona2020 There are usually a few taxis at the station when a train arrives, but no guarantee. It is a small station. If not, no problem, walk into town, about 1K away. I don't know about your hotel, ask them or google it.

  • Dennis, thanks alot for this video. My question is, is there any taxis taking you from the Santa Margherita Station to your hotel in Portofino? Do you where exactly the bus is stopping in Portofino?

  • @laimona2020 The public bus stops right in Portofino, at the end of the road. From there you walk 50 meters into the village, very small. Our hotel was in Santa Margherita, an easy taxi ride from the train station. In Portofino there are only a couple of little hotels and one very expensive one, Splendido.
