We went to the Houston Humane society today to adopt some pets, but they wouldn't let us shoot in there.

  • I adopted a wonderful little dog named Stanley from the Houston Humane Society. It took almost a week and a half to get him. They checked me out and talked to my vet. They were making sure Stan had a good home to go to. This is a great organization that provides transitional care for thousands of beautiful animals that would otherwise have to fend for themselves. Let's not allow one or two minor incidents to take away from the wonderful work they do.

  • And, it isn't bedause you look like terrorists, They wouldn't let you film because they deal with thousands of liers every year and don't know that you aren't going to use the video to make them look bad. Aside from that the adoption process takes a minimum of 3 days to verify references and get a pet ready for adoption, sometimes it is up to 2 weeks. So, you wouldn't have been able to film the adoption process anyway, and you have no idea if you you wanted to adopt was even still available.

  • The Houston Humane Society is a good organization. I'm sorry that they wouldn't let you film and I'm sorry that your kitten had ringworm, but things happen. The shelter did not give the kitten ringworm and probably didn't know it was sick until you said something but by that point they have no proof where the kitten got the ringworm. There are thousands of homeless dogs and cats that walk through those doors looking for homes, if you can't save them all, don't bash an organization that tries.

  • We adopted a kitten 2 months ago there that had ringworm and it's effected our 3 year old cat, my son, my husband and myself. We are still trying to get rid of ringworm in our house. The Houston Humane Society has not helped us at all with this horrible situation. I will never go back there and I hope you don't either!

  • This the best pet video I have EVER seen! :)
