A large rescue and relief team has arrived in Chengdu. The team includes 12 people from the State Seismological Bureau, 150 from the Beijing Military Area Command and 22 people from the Armed Police General Hospital. The team will be involved in medical treatment, rescue and disaster forecasting and evaluation. Team members are equipped to carry out all-weather and all-terrain operations. Two rescue vehicles and 12 rescue dogs and other rescue equipment also arrived in Chengdu Monday evening.
A rescue team member said, "We should first listen to reports from the people at the scene, then we'll evaluate the safety of the situation. We will then send staff to rescue, search and locate the survivors. We will use professional methods and equipment to help with the rescue, then transfer people to hospital to get medical treatment.
