DHL 727-200 take off from Auckland International Airport. Turn up your speakers! It was so loud, the crackling is from the engine also.

  • @drmartyn yes dhl for one and i think its called amerijet or something like that and fedex

  • Are there still any 727s in use in 2011? If so, where, and which Airlines use them?

  • I work on this plane in Sydney as DHL only have 1 of these that fly from AKL to SYD and it is the most noisiest plane ever! In june it is not allowed to fly to Australia because of noise restrictions.

Australians are such a bunch of weenies, aren't they??

If they think that Boeing 727s are the loudest, then they haven't seen a BAC 1-11 or a Vickers VC10 taking off.

  • @noraaslattery Haha, still holding out! I saw one from the 70's with 'whisper-jet' branding on the engines. I wasn't convinced!

  • Saw this the other day whilst waiting to take off with SQ. Lovely to see it, makes a nice change to the airbus' and boeings that litter the stands... Also the Chatham's makes for pleasant viewing, too!

  • whens it come in

  • that one is operated by Tasman Cargo airlines. This aircraft was retired on 31 august due to noise regulations. Tasman Cargo airlines now operates one 'wet leased' 757-200

  • Unfortunately this classic is now gone... From Sydney Airport anyways :(
