Eve is a 23 year old Tennessee Walking Horse who has had training mishaps throughout her life. They were, for the most part, unintentional. I have known Eve for several years now and I am re-starting her from scratch again...correctly to make her a willing partner under saddle with me. She developed the undesireable behavior of bolting on the trail a few times. I figured out that her bolting is from anticipation and fear of pressure on her mouth of nose... so I am taking back and re-developing the fear center in her brain to gain her complete trust so she can relax and realize I'm not going to ever hurt her with anything at all... I've never pulled on her mouth of nose what so ever. I have ridden her bareback and in a halter... But on the trail...she is fearful even with my years of experience in teaching her that I'm not going to tug on her. We are building trust, confidence, self-esteem and reliability with each other. We both will use this foundation and build upon that as we venture out under saddle... Love this girl...she is a pleasant challenge...Evangeline is really an amazing horse! She was inducted in The Tenneesee Walking Horse Hall of Fame for being a "Horse of History". Mark, Eve and I are taking a step back with her some to work out some of the speediness she has developed over time as a way for evading work.... This is more of an assessment than anything to see how soft she could be after alittle bit of work, etc... This gal has always loved the work, too and still does. We love our girl so much..and will be creating one of the most amazing riding partners again... to get her to stop bolting on the trail like she has been doing....
