This is exactly how not to plant a tree.
dont add a pottting mix. trees should planted in native soil only.
Hole needs to be like a bowl not straight down.
Root ball needs to be broken up.

@TheBrassHole I agree to a point, but places like Lowe's offer a 1 year guarantee on their trees, and i've never known a local nursey to have a similar policy. And, the price difference is typically pretty big.

a pretty good short video but still some important things missing. Nothing is as easy as it seems and for what you are going to pay for trees/shrubs I encourage anyone watching this video to cross reference with as many other videos as you can so you know ALL you need to before you plant.

It's important to keep the tree well watered before it goes in the ground too. The tree in the video is wilting because the root ball is bone dry!
