Another match with marinaneon2 from the same day, this time a double battle.

*SPOILERS*

Yikes... This one was close. I have to say, this was one of the more enjoyable battles that I've had in recent memory. It was also one of the few times that I've come up against an opponent using attract, and this battle displays how potent it can actually be in the right situation.

My team: Swellow, Vileplume, Froslass, Kingler

there's one thing i don't understand from the commonly used swellow strategy. why is it that its holding a flame orb? doesn't the burn condition half attack, completely thwarting your facade-guts plan? i may have missed something, so feel free to correct me if i'm wrong

No. Guts negates the attack drop from the burn, and turns it into a 50% increase. When burned, a neutral natured Swellow's attack stat effectively becomes 403.5. When combined with a 140 base power STAB move, the results are devastating.

If you use Flame Orb with Quick Feet, though, your attack will be lowered.

Although that makes sense, personally, I don't see Swellow as a pokemon that is supposed to last long enough for toxic to get that bad.

it has facade, which becomes even more powerful when the pokemon has a statis effect, endevour power is bases on hp % differences so burn does not effect it, brave bird is the only thing that is effected, and its a very powerful move so even with burn its still gonna do some dmg.

why didnt u use ice beam on the wormadam instead of puting it to sleep. that way the lunatone would die from a giga drain.
