First day after surgery! I had a big appetite and I walked about 2000 feet. When the tube was removed, it scratched the back of my throat. No pain in my shoulders or back, just where the drainage tubes are and at the top of my incision (its all manageable with morphine and percocet).

  • WHAT A TROOPER!

Wish the hospital I had open heart surgery at would have let my people record my progress the way your hospital did. ICU nurse actually looked away so my friend could take two pictures of me using her cell with all the tubes and leads right after surgery...I wanted SOMETHING besides scars for memory's sake.

HOPING YOUR FUTURE IS OPEN HEART SURGERY FREE!

  • god bless bro

  • So interesting Wish I had seen it before my surgery But everything went very well So fortunate

  • Congratulations man!

  • God Bless you strong boy!! God Bless you!!!!

  • They had to fight with me to get me to eat for like two months after surgery. Did you throw up a lot from the meds? I did. I'm 24, btw. Had the surgery dec 8, 2010.

  • my son in law just got his 3rd heart surgery, this time a pig valved was used? wondering next time they say no more chest opening needed? He had his first at aged 18 mo., 2nd age 9, he waited a long time again. but those pig valves last 10 years only? hoping there would be a lasting one by that time?
