One of the most touching songs I've ever heard. Michael P Smith wrote it...Liam Clancy and Steve Goodman had HUGE hits with it. It's been covered many times.

Usually played in a "G" position with a capo, I usually do it this way.

BTW I've had TONS of fun trying to get this guitar to work...inner luthier I guess. It's a Silvertone SD-20 second and could only be sold as used. I bought it on Ebay for $38 total - $6 + Shipping.

Usually Martin or Pearse bluegrass strings...this time Martin phosphor bronze extra lights.... 010 - .047. Still have some fretwork to do but it's coming along for a cheap guitar bought on the net.

Now if I just had some talent...sigh

  • In case someone asks about my vest...bullet hole. I go to some pretty rough watering holes, LOL!

Seriously shoulder, right arm is pretty much gone. Bad fall years ago...one of the reasons I try to keep playing is to keep the arm and hand going. The burn is from a spark from our fireplace...it was interesting, but WARM!
