The Telefunken Echomixer is a interesting German mono mixer from the year 1961. A great vintage piece with old discrete comoponents (old transistors, no tubes). It is a Mixer + an amazing spring reverberator. the first A channel is dry, and on B and C you can select the spring reverb amount between the two lower sliders.

Overdriving the input sounds also nice. I did this with a Roland TR-606. In the video I also play a Korg MS-20 through the Echomixer.

The Echomixer has only DIN jacks (they look like MIDI jacks).
It was used by Klaus Schulze on the album "Irrlicht".

  • Great piece of gear, looks and sounds very good for 50 years old baby!

Would be interesting to know what kind of spring it has, and is there any dempfer system for regulating decay?

  • @DeepIodok the reverb can not be manipulated. All you can do is to add reverb to the original signal.

  • Is there a nicer, more fantastically out-there-glamorous sound than a proper good old spring reverb? If there is, I ain't heard it. This one sounds like a particularly good one, and all. Wow, lucky you. *****.

  • I have an old Cascade spring reverb sitting somewhere- maybe I should build an amplifier for it.

  • 'it looks just like a telefunken u47'

thumbs up if you know what i mean

  • a lot of (dutch) radio pirates used this mixers as well back in the days.

  • Its R2 D2!

  • extra

  • wo findet man solche Schätzchen? Der Staub auf der Packung war schon ein guter Anfang, die 606 steigert das noch, der Uralt Echoeffekt rockt auch. Wäre interessant wie da ein MS 20 Fies-Bass klingen würde :D Klasse Video!

  • Really cool, classic sounds.
