how reliable the bag is because if it pops or leaks, then likely one is going to kiss his ass goodbye (if he works under it).

Your deflation operation is incorrect. You should deflate the air bag by releasing the one-way back valve close to the rubber cone. Do not attempt to lower vehicle by disconnecting the hose connected directly to the air bag. It is likely you get injured. The Titan is designed this way for safety reason.
