STS-128: http://www.spaceflightnews.net - NASA's space shuttle Discovery lifts off in the dark of night at Kennedy Space Center, Florida to begin mission STS-128 to outfit the International Space Station with new science equipment and transfer Nicole Stott to the complex. With a crew of seven astronauts, the space shuttle lifted off on time at 11:59 p.m. EDT, lighting up the nightime sky for miles around the space center as it rocketed to space. This video was taken in front of the countdown clock at the KSC press site. It is not a NASA TV replay. • I used to live in Chicago... I remember WGN quite well. I'm glad they covered the launch (they should have asked me to do an on-air piece for them haha)
