This piece comes from the set 'Onze pièces pour piano', which are associated with Tiersen's score to the Jean-Pierre Jeunet movie 'Le Fabuleux Destin d'Amélie Poulain', the soundtrack of which was issued on CD in 2001. I got to know these pieces three years ago when I was asked to play some at a wedding, but since then I have been intrigued by the phenomenal interest in them here on YouTube - I suspect more attempts have been made at these pieces than any others, apart from video game music. In style, they come across as a pleasant blend of Phillip Glass and Erik Satie. They are certainly very Gallic, and obviously enormously popular in France.

  • You are amazing Sir :D

  • @lulita2830 That's very kind!

  • I really enjoyed your performance. Unlike some others, I like the "fast" part as well, because you didn't rush on but stayed peacefully. Since when do you play the piano? And is it just a hobby or what your actually to make a living? I mena, 1.290 Videos, dude, that's more than much!

  • @The19thKey Thank you for your kind comment. I have been playing for around 48 years. I do play piano for a living - but as an accompanist, or collaborative pianist.

  • absolutely beautiful! you played it amazingly! :)

  • @canaisis That's really kind - I'm glad you enjoyed it!

  • @PSearPianist you missed the accentuation. no big deal thx for uploading

  • @thefatpenguin2003 Thank you for your very kind comment. I really should revisit this composer and see if I can record some more of his pieces.

  • Unlike what some viewers have claimed , I believe the pace is well balanced. I also agree on your view that this blends american and french minimalism quite well although it does remain a French piece in its nature. I would love to hear you play the rest of the set and THANK YOU for this performance !!!

  • @keksnicoh , I don't like too this part
