From Dan Soderqvist and Karl Gasleben's 1985 album From A Northern Shore, the mighty Scandis strut their stuff with killer synth riffs, glorious guitar fill work, silky vox and dense production. A reference point would be a lusher yet somehow spikier early Simple Minds, and indeed there's a break section recalling SM's arpeggiated bassline from This Fear Of Gods.
All their albums are must-haves - Music For Girls, The Sound Of A Goat In A Room, Works On Yellow, Slow Swirl and last year's Icicles - but Northern Shore is sheer genius from start to finish,
New wave!!!
