  • We carried my best mates baby brother off of a plane back from Afghan, I was asked to play this at his funeral. Had to struggle through it for him, bloody hard trying to play trumpet whilst you're crying, RIP buddy - “Whenever the maroon beret is seen on the battlefield, it at once inspires confidence, for its wearers are known to be good men and true" - Field Marshall Lord Montgomery

  • I am a yorkshire girl, and I was lucky enough to have a job through all of the strikes, I can only guess how my less fortunate friends felt when I brought food to their door....they were such proud people and still are, i know it hurt them to be humble ...it hurt me too xxx

Sir, playing that under those circumstances must have been close to impossible. I can't watch the bloody clip without tearing up. Every credit to you.

  • after about 6 hours of practicing I can now finally play 1:30 ♥ (Played it by ear)

  • tetrisclock - you are a total fuckwit

  • @TBMfan92 agree

  • @hucktoflat me too

  • Hate to nitpick, but it's so obvious that none of them is really playing that it's distracting.. OKOK, sorrysorrysorrysorrysorry etc

  • Thanks FatboyfromIIPara and credit to you from a former pit family lad and 'armyoldsweat'

  • Cobblers, this film sums up the thatcher years. The only thing the miners had left was to blow their own trumpets.

  • A one-eyed, very biased film memorable only for this brilliant piece of music- fantastically played by the Grimethorpe CB.

  • @FatboyfromIIPara Good on you pal Mr Montgomery was not wrong...
