They sound A LOT like its other but the fender deluxe is way warmer, less muddy and the pedal is a bit treblier... Great pedal, great work in reproducing such an iconic sound...

@LFWOL I would think because if you had a tweed, why would you be playing the pedal through it? Most people buy pedals like these because they DON'T have a tweed amp and want theirs to sound like one.

eww neither

@babyslapmafro The speaker in the tweed would sound better because it's the speaker in the tweed.

Andy has a face?

I couldn't tell the difference. Which is a good thing seeing as I have this pedal and have been GASing for a Tweed Deluxe.

andy watching your face when you talk is weird, I'm used to the disembodied voice with an occasional hand reaching in

TWICEEEE ASS HARDDD

yeah i knew that it was A on the first run around. tweed is meatier and has less sustain than the pedal. easier that a couple of the other ones!!

the fender sounds les messy- thats why ive never liked pedals ive got a hot rod deluxe with a omega amp dumble mod so thats all i need hahaha
there is a small problem with this test, they also have the speaker as an added variable. The les lius and marshall seem to be running through the vox cab, and if I'm correct, uses a pair of celestion alnico blues. I would think that speaker would sound better than whatever is in the tweed, they need to use the same speaker for A and B to make it balanced.

Wrong. Both amps are running through the Vox cab. Thus the Radial VT head switcher.

Andy, you know I think this is what bothers me about the test is that by removing the speakers from the equation. part of the expected tone is lost. Thus the pedal sounded more like what you expected from a plexi or fender than the real thing. I suggest running the amp per the norm (ie Marshall through a marshall cab, and fender through its cab) and then utilizing the same speaker to for the contender. Its the same control without removing part of the signature sound.
