1964 Episode #2
Hanley and the men are rescued by a Greek colonel and his men. The colonel is very unconventional, angry and acts like a loose cannon.
The colonel hails from DISTOMO: a small farming village at a stone's throw from the sea, on the road leading from Athens to Delphi, where a brutal massacre was purpetrated by the Nazi occupying forces.
An SS division's so-called "expiatory measure" resulted in the extermination of 218 villagers: women, men, elderly people, toddlers, and babies as a retaliation to a partisan attack in the vicinity that claimed the lives of 20 Nazi soldiers.
